Here is the setting

But two cyber experts have revealed ways to stay safe on WhatsApp. According to Tom Davidson, security expert and senior director at cyber firm ‘Lookout’, the most important setting to stay secure on WhatsApp is two-step verification.

This protects you if someone tries to access your messages by configuring your number with another phone or device, Tom told The Sun.

He said that once this setting is on, users are given a notification for a PIN before adding the number to WhatsApp. This provides additional protection in case an unsuspecting person manages to obtain your name and password.

He said that this two-step verification plays an important role when hackers try to access your WhatsApp account.

check it daily

According to another cyber expert Brian Higgins, you should be extra careful even if you upgrade your phone regularly.

Speaking to The Sun, expert Brian said that it is worth noting that if you install WhatsApp on a new device, your privacy will be reset to factory settings. That’s why you should check and update security settings regularly.

The Maharashtra election may further push the Congress down as it has lost the election at a time when it needed a win most desperately. Though the Congress succeeded in pushing the BJP to a corner and stopping it at less than a majority on its own, it failed to make any headway further.
