Tamil Nadu Launches WhatsApp Chatbot For Hassle-Free Access To Goverment Services

The Tamil Nadu Government has launched a WhatsApp-based chatbot, developed in partnership with Meta, to provide citizens access to 50 government services including bill payments, tax submissions, complaints, and metro bookings in both Tamil and English.

The Tamil Nadu Government has rolled out a new WhatsApp-based chatbot to make public services more accessible to citizens. The initiative was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding signed in the presence of IT Minister Dr. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan and Principal Secretary Brajendra Navnit. Through a single number, people will now be able to access 50 government services with ease.

The chatbot will be available in both Tamil and English. Citizens can use it to file complaints, make utility payments such as electricity and water bills, pay municipal taxes, and even book metro tickets.
