Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 is not only one of the best foldable phones you can buy right. To maintain its presence in the market, the company has released another version of the Galaxy Z Fold that takes everything - from design to features - to the next level.
If there were any users for whom the Galaxy Z Fold 7 was not impressive enough already, Samsung has released the new version W26 in China. While most specs under the hood remain the same, the W26 looks straight-up luxurious in its stunning red and black colour options, complete with gold trimmings, giving it a premium aesthetic. Despite the upgraded design, the W26 remains incredibly lightweight at 215g, maintaining its title as the thinnest and lightest foldable phone in the market.

Beyond its looks, the Samsung W26 introduces a notable hardware improvement over the Galaxy Z Fold: the new version has been updated with satellite calling. This feature is absent from most global Galaxy Z Fold 7 models, but text, picture messaging, and data are supported on T-Mobile in the US. It was previously thought that Samsung would be launching a tri-fold phone.

Samsung has further updated the aesthetic of the phone with a new box that comes with a refreshed design, a new Kevlar case, a charging angle stand, as well as an actual charger.
Performance Specs
Performance-wise, the W26 has been packed with 16GB of RAM across both its 512GB and 1TB storage options, whereas the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s 512GB model offers just 12GB of RAM. Beyond that, the phone has also been equipped with a slew of new AI tools, including Smart Collection, which allows users to drag images and text into a dedicated space for easier content management.
Pricing of the new W26 starts at CNY 16,999 for the 512GB version and CNY 18,999 for the 1TB model. The device remains a China-exclusive release with no plans for an international launch.
Samsung generally keeps the W series confined to China and has had a long-standing partnership with China Telecom. The series caters to local design aesthetics; hence, it’s inevitable that the phone will be sold alongside the regular Galaxy Z Fold 7 in China. Samsung has not revealed any update on the possibility of the special editions' launch in India.
