New Delhi: Redmi is about to launch its Redmi 12 smartphone in the Indian market on August 1. The company will share information related to the phone in the coming days. Recently, the brand revealed that the phone would come in a Moonstone Silver colour option. The Jade Black colour variant of the device has also been revealed by the brand.
Just like the Moonstone Silver, the Jade Black colour variant will also come with a crystal glass finish, which will give a premium look to this budget-range device. Since this device has already hit the global market, its specifications and features have already been revealed. It is expected that this smartphone with similar specifications will also come to India.
Talking about the specifications, the Redmi 12 flaunts a 6.79-inch IPS LCD display, which offers Full HD+ resolution, 550 nits maximum brightness, and up to a 90 Hz refresh rate. In terms of security, this smartphone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The Redmi smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 SoC processor, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. However, it is not yet clear whether the device will hit the Indian market with the same storage option.
On the camera front, the Redmi 12 gets a triple rear camera setup, which includes a 50-megapixel primary camera along with an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro sensor. At the same time, an 8-megapixel front camera has been added to the phone for selfies and video calling.
To give power to the device, a powerful battery of 5000 mAh is available, which comes with 33W fast charging support. Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack and water and dust resistance. The handset runs MIUI 14, based on Android 13.
At present, the company has not officially disclosed the price of the Redmi 12. But it is likely that the device will be a budget smartphone.
