Qualcomm announced its latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset boasting many on-device artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities in March this year. And now, the company has confirmed that the new 4nm octa-core chipset will arrive in India with the upcoming Poco F6 5G, which will become the first smartphone in India to feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. The Poco F-series smartphone will be introduced this month and will be available for purchase via Flipkart.
Smartphones Available With Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Chipset
Other smartphone brands such as Xiaomi, iQoo, Realme and Motorola have already introduced their respective smartphones boasting the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset in global markets outside India. The smartphones running on this 4nm chipset from the aforementioned brands include the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, Realme GT Neo 6, iQoo Z9 Turbo, Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro, and Redmi Turbo 3.

Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC Features
The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC is a 4nm octa-core chipset. A prime core runs at up to 3.0GHz, four performance cores offer a peak clock speed of 2.8GHz, while three efficiency cores are clocked at 2.0GHz.
The chipset’s Adreno GPU supports HDR gaming along with real-time hardware-accelerated ray tracing and up to 24GB of LPDDR5x memory at 4200MHz and UFS 4.0 storage. The chipset supports over 30 on-device generative AI models including Llama 2, Gemini Nano, and Baichuan-7B.
Poco F6 5G Launch Date
Poco has already confirmed that the F6 5G will be launched in India on May 23 at 4:30pm IST and will go on sale via Flipkart. The smartphone is expected to be launched as a rebrand version of Redmi Turbo 3, which was introduced in China in April this year at a starting price of CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs 23,000).

If it turns out to be a rebrand version of Redmi Turbo 3 in reality, it will sport a 6.7-inch 1.5K (1,220×2,712 pixels) resolution OLED display, a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 shooter, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, and a 20-megapixel snapper at the front for selfies. It could pack a 5,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging support.
