Oppo Find N5 Launched, Thinnest Foldable Ever- Would Apple Be Able To Beat Oppo’s New Foldable

After a constant array of hints, that their new Find N5 Could Be the Thinnest Foldable Oppo has finally launched the new Find N5. The phone is being harked to be even more thinner than that of the Honor Magic V3, which was considered to be thinner than the magic V3 that was the thinnest phone of the 2024.

As per Oppo the phone is the thinnest. Beyond Oppo’s launch of Find N5, Huawei Mate Xt Triple fold has been launched as well , the Huawei triple fold design can easily beat the Oppo if measured for thickness when fully opened.

The Oppo N5 got its global launch on Thursday , the phone has been released in all European and Asian markets. Oppo has not launched the Phone in the Indian Market, would the brand launch the phone in a separate event later or skip India for its new phone is still a matter of mystery. The Phone has been launched at SGD 2,499, which  roughly translate to Rs 1,62,000. 

Specs and Features of the new phone 

The phone would have a 6.62 inch fhd screen, an internal screen as well as a 8.12 inch  2k Internal display.  Both the internal as well as the external display are super amoled with a whopping 120 Hz refresh rate  and a 2160 Hz PWM dimming. The displays are also compatible with a stylus pen.

Oppo has been able to manage IPX6,X8 and X9 ratings for the new find N5. Such protection would save the home from spraying water, dust and dirt. The Phone would have a side mounted fingerprint scanner  and an alert slider on the left crevice. 

The Phone would be powered by a Qualcomm Chipset, Snapdragon 8 elite. The Chipset would be coupled with 16gb LPDDR5X Ram  and 5112 UFS 4.0 storage. Beyond that the innovative design team from oppo has been able to give the phone a 5,600 mah battery even after its foldable capabilities. The phone would support 80 W wired charging speeds and 50 w wireless charging speeds. 

The phone further has been fitted with a Hassleblad- branded Triple camera setup , this includes a 50 mp Sony LYT-700 mainsensor and a 8 mg ultrawide angle camera as well as a 50mop periscope camera. With 6x optical zoom and 30 x digital zoom. 

Competition With Apple 

 Find N5 has been able to provide the users with a screen that has minimal crease, similar has been the objective of Apple with its new foldable. There have been rumors how Apple has been trying to find a supplier that can easily fulfill their requirements for a screen that is thinner in the middle and provides lower chances of creases when folded. 

The Screen would probably be channeled through a Chinese supplier. Beyond that Apple plans to move ahead and expand the new foldable formfactor to bigger devices such as a iPad. Its possible that Apple might be working on a trifold unit.
