New Delhi: OnePlus has officially announced the launch of its inaugural foldable phone, named “OnePlus Open,” which is set to debut in the upcoming weeks, directly competing with Samsung’s recently released Galaxy Z Fold 5.

The back of the OnePlus Open will feature a triple-camera setup, where the Hasselblad text has been replaced by the camera company’s logo, now positioned on the right side of the module. This setup includes three camera sensors, including a periscope telephoto camera.
Additionally, there is a new sensor, either a Time-of-Flight (ToF) or LiDAR sensor. Renderings of the updated design have emerged based on pre-production units of the foldable phone. As per the report, the camera module will occupy the top half of the foldable phone, with the OnePlus logo positioned below it, indicating a potential new design for the phone’s presentation.
The phone’s foldable display will measure 7.8 inches diagonally and support a 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. On the exterior, there will be a 6.3-inch AMOLED cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The OnePlus Open will feature a 20MP selfie camera on the inside and a 32MP front camera on the cover display.
The back of the OnePlus Open will feature a 48MP primary camera sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide camera, and a 64MP periscope camera. The phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and will be available with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Additionally, it will be equipped with a substantial 4800mAh battery, supporting 67W fast charging right out of the box.
