A YouTuber tested the device’s GPU performance using 3DMark’s Steel Nomad Light benchmark, where it scored 3,143, outperforming both the Galaxy A19 (2,598) and A19 Pro (3,004). However, it lagged behind MediaTek’s newly launched Dimensity 9500 in GPU performance.
There’s considerable hype around the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, but its real-world performance in Indian market devices remains to be seen. Last year, some Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered phones like the iQOO 13 showed heating issues during benchmarks, while the OnePlus 13 with the same chip did not, likely due to software-based CPU throttling by the brand.

There have been a few instances where the OnePlus 15 has been showcased to the public. The phone was recently seen in a white colorway, featuring a back panel similar to the OnePlus 13S. It also shares a similar camera housing with the standard OnePlus 13S.
Media reports suggest that the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. This new chip is Qualcomm’s flagship mobile chipset and has been fabricated using TSMC’s 3nm (N3P) process. The SoC features a 64-bit architecture and is claimed to deliver up to a 23% performance improvement and 20% better power efficiency compared to the previous generation.
The OnePlus 15 will join other flagship devices such as the Xiaomi 17 series, Honor Magic 8 series, and the Realme GT 8 Pro as one of the first smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
165Hz Display and Android 16-Based ColorOS 16
Another upgrade attracting attention is OnePlus’s decision to equip the new phone with a 165Hz display, a notable improvement over the 120Hz panel seen in previous models. The new screen will allow for higher frame rates during gaming, enhancing the overall experience.
The handset is expected to launch with ColorOS 16, based on Android 16.
