During its launch, the Nothing Phone (3) was priced at Rs 79,999 back in July this year, and since then, the flagship model has received multiple price cuts that have made it extremely appealing to users. Recently, Flipkart had the Phone 3 listed for around Rs 26,000, which got people’s attention-especially those seeking the flagship at an affordable price. However, the orders that were placed when the price of the phone dropped below Rs 30,000 were later cancelled at the last moment. Flipkart decided to cancel all the orders placed over the last few days, and users were informed about the decision via their online accounts.
Many users have raised concerns regarding the pricing and Flipkart’s failure to honour the price that was displayed on the website at the time of the sale. Users have shared visuals showing messages where buyers were informed about the order cancellations on their accounts. The message stated that the order was cancelled as the price of the product had been incorrectly listed by the seller.
Flipkart has placed the blame on the seller, pointing out that the Phone 3’s special price was a mistake in the first place. A few users who ordered using Flipkart’s “Minutes” service did receive the unit, but the majority did not.
The Issue
Flipkart provides sellers with the freedom to list their products at prices that are mutually agreed upon, as reported by News18. However, the new issue appears to be a mix of problems raised by both the seller and Flipkart. After the order cancellations, users have been receiving full refunds for their orders.
The report further suggests that the original deal was earlier available to Phone (1) and Phone (2) users, who were offered a special deal allowing them to buy the new Nothing flagship for under Rs 40,000. That promotion was official. However, weeks later, the Phone 3 appeared at a similar price point without any exchange deal in play.
