Nothing Smartwatch: Reports suggest that Nothing, known for its unique design and decent-performing smartphones, is venturing into the smartwatch market. The company has reportedly obtained certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for its upcoming smartwatch. Carl Pei, the CEO of Nothing, recently fueled speculation by sharing an image of the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro on Twitter, indicating his interest in the segment. While there is no official confirmation yet, fans can anticipate an announcement in the near future.
A recent report highlighting a BIS certification listing with the model number D395 indicates that Nothing is indeed working on a smartwatch. The report suggests that the Nothing Smartwatch might make its debut later this year, separate from the upcoming Nothing Phone (2) release.
Currently, the company’s primary focus is on the imminent launch of the Nothing Phone (2) scheduled for July 11. It has been revealed that the second version of the phone will be a high-end smartphone featuring flagship specifications, including a powerful CPU, ample RAM, and other notable enhancements compared to its predecessor.
In a bid to gain insights into the smartwatch market, Carl Pei acquired the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro but found it to be of little use. However, based on the BIS listing, it appears that Nothing fans can look forward to the release of the Nothing Smartwatch in the near future. The report also mentions that Carl Pei procured the product to assess the competition.
Considering the company’s current focus on the Nothing Phone (2) launch, it is highly likely that Nothing is actively developing a smartwatch, which may be positioned as a premium or mid-range offering.
