As per a leak by YEUX1122 on a Korean blog site by the name of Naver Blog, the foldable phone would use a Custom display process for which Apple could possibly apply for branding trademark rights. This would meet the stringent requirements for thinness as well as power efficiency and brightness levels.
Leaks have further been able to delineate that, Samsung has been able to achieve a breakthrough, they have integrated the touch sensor directly into the display panel. This would help in reducing the overall thickness by approximately 19% compared to the current Galaxy Z fold components. The new build would definitely have a lighter build along with rigid display structure.

The Touch layer, is integrated within the display’s TFT layer, and offers lower thickness, faster response and no lamination gap. The costs of the phone would further rise to achieve a foldable OLED in a foldable phone due to mechanical stress and durability concerns at the hinge.
A report has also claimed that Samsung’s recent push to dramatically reduce thickness in the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 may be a strategic move to satisfy Apple’s manufacturing requirements as a display supplier.
