Days after the iPhone launch, Meta and Ray-Ban have unveiled the next product of their collaboration — the next step in wearable augmented reality gear. The all-new Meta Ray-Ban Display is the evolution of the Meta Ray-Ban glasses, adding the luxury of a full-color display within the lenses.
The new glasses have been produced following a novel approach to fusing a digital interface with reality, keeping the user informed while staying connected to the world. This launch comes alongside the redesigned Meta Ray-Ban Gen 2 glasses, which continue to drive forward the development of simpler AI glasses.
The Meta Ray-Ban glasses rely on Meta’s software platform and aim to bring more users into the Meta ecosystem – without following the conventional smartphone approach, like Apple. Meta is pricing the Ray-Ban Display at $799.
What’s the Difference
The new Ray-Ban Display Glasses feature a high-resolution screen within the right lens that can show information such as text messages, photo previews, and real-time translations. The display is designed for quick, subtle interactions without obstructing the user’s view of the world.
The Meta Neural Band wristband uses electromyography to detect and interpret barely perceptible movements of the hands and fingers. This allows users to intuitively control the glasses hands-free—a complete departure from traditional voice-controlled systems.
Some of the other features include hands-free messaging, two-way video calling, live captioning, and enhanced audio with a five-microphone setup for immersive sound recording.
How to Buy in India
The Meta Ray-Ban Display comes bundled with the Meta Neural Band and has been listed in the U.S. at a price of $799, with sales starting from September 30. However, Meta is currently selling the device only in the U.S. market.
The U.S. will be the only market to get the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses this year. Starting next year, Meta plans to bring the Ray-Ban Display glasses to Canada, France, Italy, and the UK. Although the full list of countries has not yet been published, India could possibly get access to the glasses by late next year, considering that the previous-gen AI glasses are still on sale here.
Launch Timeline
The previous-gen models were introduced in India after some time from the launch of the glasses on October 17, 2023. And as per online advertisements, the glasses were available for purchase from May 23, 2025. Going by the previous release date, the new edition will probably be launched after some time from the current global launch.
