Tesla Optimus Robots: Tesla CEO Elon Musk showcased Optimus, the latest version of the humanoid robot, at the “We, Robot” event in California. The event that took place last week witnessed how Tesla Optimus robots displayed their ability to sing birthday song, dance, serve drinks and play rock paper scissors with the guests. However, if you thought those robots used cutting-edge AI-powered machines, you might be mistaken.
Robert Scoble @Scobleizer, who was one of the attendees, revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that the ‘humans’ were controlling these robots.

He wrote in one of his posts, “Optimus make me a drink, please. This is not wholly AI. A human is remote assisting. Which means AI day next year where we will see how fast Optimus is learning.”

Meanwhile, he also posted a video, which shows how the robot was serving drinks, and chatting with the guests at the event.
Later, he revealed that he got to know from an engineer that the robots used AI to walk. He wrote “I talked with an engineer. When it walked that is AI running Optimus. It is real impressive they brought so many out in crowds at @tesla’s event.”

One of the robots confirmed in another video that a human was assisting it, saying it is not completely autonomous. An attendee asked a robot whether it is remotely controlled, to which replied, “Today, I am assisted by a human”, adding “I am not yet fully autonomous”.
Optimus Robots: Expected Price
Meanwhile, Elon Musk revealed at the event that Optimus could come in a price range between $20,000 (approx. Rs 16,81,404) to $30,000.
“I think everyone among the 8 billion people on Earth will want an Optimus buddy,” he claimed, highlighting the robot’s potential for widespread adoption.
