Who is John Ternus?
He is the Senior Vice President at Apple and is responsible for all of Apple’s hardware teams, including iPhones, iPads, Macs, and AirPods. The 50-year-old John is considered Tim Cook’s likely successor.
His Journey with Apple
He began his career with Apple in 2001, first joining the product design team. He soon became Vice President and was later promoted to Senior Vice President, heading the Hardware Engineering division.
His increasing visibility also signals his potential to be the next face of Apple. It is believed that Apple is grooming him for a leadership role. It remains to be seen whether Apple will officially confirm his appointment as CEO.
Tim Cook has held his current position for the past 14 years. He is now 65 years old, and there has been speculation that he is planning to retire. He was appointed CEO of Apple on August 24, 2011.
