New Delhi: On Friday, Reliance Jio declared its association with the subscription-based streaming service Netflix. The Indian telecommunication services has announced prepaid plans that will come with Netflix along with unlimited 5G data.
The move is likely to benefit Netflix good as the offer will allow over 400 million prepaid users to redeem the subscription of the streaming platform.
There are two plans rolled out by Jio. The first one is of Rs 1,099 that will offer Netflix Mobile plan, in which, the customers can stram on mobile phones only. Meanwhile in another plan that would cost Rs 1,499, customers will be able to stream Netflix on big screens as well.
However, both the plans are valid for 84 days. They als offers unlimited 5G data and 2GB daily 4G data limit and unlimited voice calls.
In a statement, Jio Platforms CEO Kiran Thomas said the company is committed to give world-class services to its customers. The streaming platform is already assocaited with Jio postpaid and broadband plans.
Tony Zameczkowski on behalf of Netflix pointed out that their collection of stories are growig and their new partnership with Jio will help customers to get access to exciting lineup of Indian content along with the ones from around the world.
Netflix’s Struggle
The news comes amid Netflix’s efforts to stay relevant to people as it is almost at its saturation point in United States, reported Rueters. Not just that, Netflix is also putting efforts in Indian market to stay accessible to people here.
