Pre-orders for the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air opened on Friday in several countries, including the US. For the Pro Max, estimated deliveries soon stretched past September 19 for those who hadn’t yet placed an order, and now many other models are seeing similar delays.
As of shortly after 11:30 a.m. Pacific Time on Saturday, select iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone Air configurations on Apple’s online store in the US faced an additional 1-3 week shipping delay, with delivery estimates now stretching to late September or mid-October. However, delivery or in-store pickup at Apple Stores, for some configurations, was still available on Saturday.
While the supply for each new iPhone model is unknown, the delivery delays usually point to high demand, with Cloud White for the iPhone Air and Cosmic Orange for the Pro models emerging as the most popular choices so far. Sage and Black are also in demand for the standard iPhone 17.
Good news for early pre-order customers: some who were first given a September 25 delivery date are now seeing their orders moved up to September 19.
