Faster charging speeds have become a pre requisite for smart phones, with the heavier battery drainage, even when the phone is kept vacant. But the latest rumor’s might leave the Apple fans reeling and asking for more.
As per a note with investment firm Gf securities, reported by Mac rumor’s this week, Apple Supply Chain Analyst Jeff Pu Said the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 pro Max would all support 35W wired charging speeds.
As per a previous report by charger Lab it had been established that iPhone 16 Pro Models achieved maximum Sustained Charging speeds of around 30 W. In one of the image the website showed the iPhone 16 Pro Max reached a peak charging speed of around 37 W with Apples 140 W USB-C power Adapter.
Another test that was conducted by Phone Arena saw the phone reaching the max speed of only around 38 W when the phone was under stress and heavy load. The Device could only sustain a constant charging speed of 20 w to 26 W normally.
Since iPhone 16 and I6 Pro models already reached peak wired charging speeds in the 35 W range it has become apparent that the charging speeds of the 17 could possibly be the same as well. It seems like there would be not improvement in charging speeds with any of the iPhone 17 models.
For a Comparison here is a list of fastest charging phones as per a report by Phone Arena
One Plus 13 – charges at a sustained speed of 80 W
Motorola Edge 2024 charges at a sustained Speed of 68 W
Google Pixel Pro Xl – 37W
Honour Magic 7 Pro – 100 W
So with such charging speeds wit Budget Android phones a faster charging speed was expected from the likes of Apple.
