Amid rumours and leaks ahead of the launch of the much-anticipated Apple iPhone 17 series, new details about the phone’s casing have emerged. Apple is expected to introduce a news cases lineup called TechWoven, according to tipster Majin Bu. Last year, the tech giant discontinued FineWoven, which was launched as a brand-new line-up of cases with the iPhone 15 series. Apple launched the iPhone 16 with clear cases alongside silicone cases the following year. The new TechWoven line is expected to offer a refreshed design with a more sustainable build, aimed at addressing the shortcomings of FineWoven.
“Apple will introduce the new TechWoven cases with the iPhone 17, the direct successor to the FineWoven line. The concept remains a fabric cover, but the material has been redesigned for greater durability and more practical daily use,” Majin Bu said.

iPhone 17 New Case Lineup: What To Expect?
According to tipster Majin Bu, the upcoming TechWoven cases could protect iPhones from scratches, impact, and daily wear, while offering a minimalist look. These fabric-made cases are expected to be available across the entire iPhone 17 lineup, including the standard model, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and the 17 Air, and could arrive in colours such as black, brown, blue, green, and purple.
“The surface features a dense, slightly textured weave that improves grip and reduces signs of wear. It resists glossing and maintains a consistent appearance even after weeks of use,” said the tipster.
Majin Bu also claims the cases could include two lanyard holes for added convenience, come with built-in MagSafe support for accessories like chargers and wallets, and feature a non-slip texture to improve grip.
What Went Wrong With FineWoven Cases?
Users complained about the poor durability of the FineWoven cases and claimed that they were developing scratches within just a few days of use. They also tended to stain and wear out quickly, which was not worth their price of Rs 5,900. In fact, prices for the iPhone 15 Pro FineWoven cases have now fallen to around Rs 900 on sites like Croma, showing they are no longer popular.
