Apple’s primary iPhone manufacturer Foxconn is seemingly prioritizing manufacturing and production in India as it has invested $1.5 billion into India. Such efforts signal towards a significant acceleration in Apple’s efforts to shift iPhone production away from China, As per Bloomberg’s reports. The Investment was revealed in a stock exchange filing by Foxconn, which actively expanded its manufacturing in Southern India in recent years. Foxconn has also ramped up its investment in the United States as well.
The move to invest in Indian manufacturing bases away from China, which has for the longest time been the mecca for iPhone manufacturing has been due to the increased tariffs on imports to US from China. In recent times, India has become the manufacturing base for iPhones after, US imposed extensive tariffs on Apple.
Apple has recently executed a production job worth around $22 billion in India during the 12 months ending in March 2025, a nearly 60% increase over previous years. Foxconn is not the sole manufacturer that is producing phones, others such as Pegatron now operates facilities in India focused on phone Manufacturing. Apple would be manufacturing the majority of iPhones sold in the United States in India by the End of 2026.
Apple has been making big changes to ensure that they have a production and manufacturing bases ready for the ramped up manufacturing process of the upcoming iPhone 17 launch in September 2025.

The advanced Silicon Battery technology would help the brand further aid other devices and flagships as well such as the 20th anniversary flagship TDK has further assured that they would be able to surpass the set standards and are currently working on a new fourth generation silicon Battery which they would launch sometime in the next fiscal year. The Air is expected to replace the Plus model that is currently available in the line up. The phone is likely to be launched in September.
