Recent leaks about Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16 series are fueling the excitement of tech enthusiasts and fans. Amid the growing anticipation, a new leak has emerged online, suggesting that the iPhone 16 series could receive a major update in terms of design and display sizes. It claims that the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models could sport bigger displays, while the vanilla iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Plus could get a new camera alignment.
If these changes come to fruition, they will end Apple’s three-year streak of introducing consistent designs and displays. It’s worth noting that the iPhone 16 series is also expected to receive capacitive buttons this year.
Tipster Sonny Dickson posted an image on X (formerly known as Twitter) revealing the new design and screen sizes. Going by the images, the iPhone 16 Pro could come with a 6.3-inch display against the iPhone 15 Pro’s 6.1-inch screen size.

Likewise, the iPhone 16 Pro Max could feature a 6.9-inch display as opposed to the 6.7-inch found on its predecessor iPhone 15 Pro Max. The vanilla iPhone 16 is tipped to retain its 6.1-inch display and the iPhone 16 Plus too will have the same 6.7-inch display.
If this upgrade turns out to be true, it will delight some users but might leave the fans of smaller smartphones disappointed. Well, the tipster has revealed more than just the display size. According to the leak, the vanilla iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Plus will receive a change in the camera alignment.

In contrast to the diagonally oriented camera module found on the iPhone 13, iPhone 14 and iPhone 15, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus could sport a vertically aligned module, identical to the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12.
However, another change that makes it stand out from other iPhone models is the LED flash outside the module. The vertical camera alignment is rumoured to add spatial video recording capabilities to the vanilla iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Plus.
Although not much is known, other features of Apple’s next-generation iPhone have emerged on the internet. A report suggests that the iPhone 16 series could feature capacitive buttons instead of the physical power button and volume rockers. They were initially expected to arrive in the iPhone 15 series but were later scrapped. The Action Button, currently available only on Pro models, is also expected to arrive with all iPhone 16 models.
