The craze of iPhones is unparalleled among the people. We’ve already seen many people standing in queues to buy the latest iPhone 16 are its variants but buyers of the iPhone 16 Pro, priced at Rs 1,19,900, are reporting screen problems, particularly with delayed touch response and taps not registering.
Possible Causes
These issues likely affect only the Pro models i.e. iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, which use a 120Hz ProMotion display. One Reddit user speculated that the thinner bezels in these models might contribute to the problem. Another possibility is the recent iOS 18 update, which may have impacted the display’s performance. Apple is expected to address this with an upcoming iOS 18 update or a patch.

Manufacturing and Price Cuts
While Apple is now producing the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus in India this year, the Pro model is still being manufactured in China. Despite this, Apple has managed to decrease the price of the iPhone 16 Pro series in India by around Rs 15,000 compared to the last models, thanks to the reduced customs duties announced in the Union Budget 2024.
Apple is continuously working to diversify its manufacturing operations by expanding in India, reducing its dependency on China as the primary production hub.
