Mumbai: Huge crowd gathered outside an Apple store in Mumbai on Friday as the new iPhone 16 series went on sale from today. Apple in rolling out the iPhone 16 lineup in almost 60 countries including India, China, South Korea and Australia. However, the smartphone will come without the Apple Intelligence. It means that the buyers will need download the software features as Apple make them available in the coming weeks and months.

A customer Mohammad Shariq says, “I came from Saharanpur in UP. I have purchased the iPhone 16. I am an iPhone lover. I was planning to go to the Mumbai store, but I got it in Delhi itself. Earlier I was using the iPhone 15 Pro Max.”

A customer named Akshay from Mumbai told ANI, “I came at 6 am. I purchased the iPhone 16 Pro Max. I liked iOS 18 and the zoom camera quality has become better now, I came from Surat.”

There are two standard models in the new lineup – the 16 and 16 Plus – and two higher-end devices – Pro and Pro Max. The preorders for the phones kicked off last week and shipments are reaching stores on Friday. Apple fans have gathered at stores in various locations around the world. The initial models going on sale will be powered by iOS 18 operating system. For Apple Intelligence, the iOS 18.1 will be required and it is coming in October.

Apple recently introduced the new iPhone 16 series in India and other global markets. Apple has provided several upgrades to the standard models, which will likely persuade people to buy the new version. The Pro version has also received major changes over its predecessors. The iPhone 16 series will soon be available for pre-orders and will be sold on Flipkart, Amazon, Apple Store, and other platforms.

iPhone 16, Plus, Pro and Pro Max

The iPhone 16 in the US market starts at $799 (roughly Rs 67,000), while the iPhone 16 Plus costs $899 (roughly Rs 75,500). The iPhone 16 Pro price starts at $999 (roughly Rs 83,870) for 128GB and $1,199 (roughly Rs 1 lakh) for the iPhone 16 Pro Max for 256GB.

iPhone 16 is priced at Rs 79,900 and the iPhone 16 Plus costs Rs 89,900 in India. The iPhone 16 Pro, starts at Rs 119,900 in our country. The most premium model, the iPhone 16 Pro Max, is priced at Rs 144,900.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 16 series begin in India on September 13 at 5:30 PM. The first sale will start on September 20.
