The year 2024 witnessed different developments in various fields. India has done and achieved various things in the sector of science. This year the scientists of the nation executed many projects. ISRO launched many satellites, and did progress in the field of science.

There are multiple projects which are launched by ISRO. Here are few of the major projects.

XPoSat

ISRO started the year 2024 with the launch of the Polarimeter Satellite which is known as XPoSat. The launch took place from Sriharikota. The satellite is made to study celestial events like the Black Hole and Neutron stars.

Aditya L1

India’s first solar mission, Aditya L-1, made a successful entry into its halo orbit at the Lagrange point. It made the entry at the L-1 point on January 6, 2024. The Aditya L-1 was launched on September 2, 2023.

It is set to study the atmosphere of the Sun, which includes the photosphere, chromosphere and corona.

INSAT-3DS

The launch of this weather satellite on February 17, 2024, shows another achievement of ISRO. The operational life of the project is 10 years. The satellite strengthens the weather prediction capability of India.

Probe-3

ISRO launched the European Space Agency’s Proba 3 on December 5, 2024. This mission aims to replicate a total solar eclipse through precise formation flying.

SpaDeX Mission

India has now became the fourth country that successfully done space docking with Bharatiya Docking System. The process is expected to get completed by January 2025.
