New Delhi: The South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor launched its facelifted Grand i10 Nios hatchback about two months ago. Now the company has launched a new variant of this car called Sports Executive. This new variant has come in between the Magna and Sportz variants of this car. It has the option of manual and automatic transmission. The starting price of this car from the showroom has been kept at Rs 7.16 lakh.
What is the specialty?
The Sportz Executive variant of the Grand i10 NIOS does not have the automatic climate control function like its Sportz trim. But it gets all the other features of the Sportz trim. This includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry, rear AC vents, 15-inch alloy wheels and a height-adjustable driver’s seat. As safety features, it also has features like 4 airbags, ESC and hill start assist, ABS with EBD, emergency stop signal and high speed warning system. This new variant is Rs. 3500 cheaper than the Sportz variant.
Engine
Hyundai has not made any other changes to the hatchback. Powering the car is a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 83 bhp, mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
What is the price?
The Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS is priced between Rs 5.68 lakh to Rs 8.46 lakh ex-showroom. This hatchback competes with Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ignis and Tata Tiago. The Maruti Suzuki Swift has a 1.2L petrol engine that generates 88.5 horsepower. A CNG variant is also available here.
