New Delhi: Huawei will introduce the first tri-folding smartphone in the world – Huawei Mate XT – on September 10, a day after Apple iPhone 16 launch. The smartphone sports three displays, thanks to its tri-folding design. Once opened, it turns into a big tablet-like device. Company CEO Richard YU recently provided a glimpse of the smartphone. And now, the brand has released a teaser video, which reveals the foldable smartphone’s design.
Huawei Mate XT: What We Know So Far?
A promo video shared on Weibo reveals a lot about the tri-folding smartphone’s design. The video shows it in Maroon colour with a vegan leather back. At the back, an octagon-shaped camera module identical to the Huawei Mate 60 RS Ultimate can also be seen.
The teaser video also reveals the smartphone in completely unfolded state. It appears like a big tablet, however, the overall build appears slim.
A recent leaked image on Weibo showed an alleged Huawei Mate XT tri-folding smartphone. It looks slim in the picture and there is also a physical fingerprint sensor, that can be seen on the side of the phone.
What to Expect?
The Huawei Mate XT is expected to have 16GB of RAM and 512GB storage. When unfolded, the tri-folding phone could turn into a 10-inch display. It is expected to be introduced in a single variant and is said to be priced at CNY 16,888 (Rs 1,99,844) in China.
It’s still not clear whether the smartphone will make its way to other markets. Still, it’s a big leap for the company to be the first to launch a tri-fold smartphone.
