New Delhi: VLC Media Player was recently banned by the Government of India. But, now this ban has been lifted. After the government's ban, it was believed that this app was sending users' data to China. The company had sent a legal notice to the government regarding this. Now the ban has been lifted from VLC Media Player. With this, users can access the site of VLC Media Player again. This information was first given by the Internet Freedom Foundation or IFF. IFF has also claimed that it has provided legal support to the company to settle the dispute. Now users can directly download VLC media player by visiting VideoLan's website. According to the official website, 73 million people have downloaded this player so far. However, more people are downloading it.

The reason for the ban is not clear

So far the reason for banning it has not been revealed. That is, the government has not clarified why this media player was banned. It is believed that it was banned by mistake, which has now been removed by the government.

The company had sent a legal notice

In October this year, the maker of VLC had sent a legal notice to the Government of India seeking a reply on the ban. The company had threatened that if a satisfactory answer is not received from the government, it will take further action. It is an open source application and the Government of India itself has promoted it under the Digital India Initiative. VideoLAN alleged that the government did not follow the rules in blocking the VLC media player URL.
