The release date of Ghost of Yotei, the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, is drawing near, with the game scheduled for PlayStation 5. Created by Sucker Punch, this open-world title lets players experience a revenge saga set in feudal Japan, taking them on a journey across the country, Rolling Stone reported.
Atsu, a lone mercenary, is determined to take revenge on the Yōtei Six, the masked outlaws responsible for killing her family. To achieve this, she assumes the role of the “Ghost,” Screenrant reported.
Gamers will explore the rough terrain of Ezo, set in the 1600s. Atsu will embark on a journey where she experiences different environments, such as peaceful hot springs, cloudy forests, and snow-covered mountains. Gamers will enjoy a non-linear experience thanks to the open world, which lets them choose which of the Yōtei Six to fight first.
Ghost of Yotei remains an action combat game but adds new mechanics and weapons to enhance gameplay. Players can use two katanas, the powerful odachi, and even a grappling hook to climb cliffs and get past fallen trees, Rolling Stone reported.
Ghost of Yotei: Release date
According to the official Ghost of Yotei PlayStation Store page, Ghost of Yotei is set to release on Thursday, October 2, at midnight for players outside the United States, according to their local time zones. In the US, however, the game will launch at midnight on the East Coast, followed by other regions.

The standard edition of the Ghost of Yotei will be priced at $69.99, according to Screenrant, while the Digital Deluxe edition will cost $79.99. A Collector’s edition will be priced at $249.99.
