Ghibli Style Gone Wrong: What began as a fun experiment has now turned into a creepy trend! The unexpected twist presented by OpenAI’s image-generation tool has taken social media by storm. While many people, including politicians and celebrities, continue to cherish their dreamy Ghibli-style animated pictures, others were shocked to witness the bizarre creations of ChatGPT.
Ghibli-Style AI Glitches Examples
One such instance was the Ghibli-style image of a woman celebrating Chhath Puja. The original picture showed her holding a basket containing a coconut. However, ChatGPT turned the fruit into a human head. In another twist, the trend escalated when a couple uploaded their picture with a baby in their hand. However, ChatGPT turned the picture into a family of five by adding 2 more babies into the frame.

In yet other bizarre incidents, the Artificial Intelligence tool added an unknown third person into the picture of a newly wedded couple and an extra hand to the picture of a girl. This follows an AI-generated art trend that also took a toll on Bollywood Actor Salman Khan, who was turned into a Rhinoceros in a Ghibli-style picture.

Is AI Intentionally Committing Errors?
While these technical glitches might be a source of entertainment for many users, blunders like missing hands, an extra belly, mysterious people, disfigured faces, and additional items are things to worry about. The blunders in Ghibli-style images hint at the AI’s lack of understanding of the complex details in the pictures. While it doesn’t seem as intentional, ChatGPT might be creating these Ghibli-studio artworks to add fun to the atmosphere.
Potential Reasons Behind The Glitches
The other reason behind the creation of weird animations might be the lack of understanding of the user’s prompt. AI might create errors if the information is not conveyed simply and accurately. A third reason could be cultural misunderstanding. AI creates images based on patterns learned from data. Therefore, it doesn’t completely understand some traditional rituals as seen in the case of Chhath Puja. In other cases, ChatGPT AI images might be based on sensitivity and complexity.
