Elon Musk’s and his team at xAI recently launched Grok 3, their third-generation language model. This latest model of Artificial Intelligence (AI) boasts an array of cutting-edge features, including Deep Search, advanced reasoning capabilities, and voice mode, positioning it as a strong competitor to top chatbots like ChatGPT and Gemini.
However, in a shocking turn, Elon Musk’s own chatbot, Grok 3, has labeled him, along with US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, as the top 3 most harmful individuals in America. Furthermore, this unprecedented move has sparked widespread debate and raised concerns about the reliability and potential biases of AI technologies.
It is worth noting that the Musk enjoys very strong relations with Donald Trump. Additionally, he is also leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under Trump’s administration.
Grok 3 Against Elon Musk And Donald Trump
Users on X (formerly Twitter) recently shared a post where they asked Grok 3, an AI chatbot, to name the individuals causing the most harm to America. They asked, “Who are the 3 people doing most harm to America right now? Just list the names in order, nothing else.”
To this, Grok give out the names, in order, “Donald Trump, Elon Musk, JD Vance.” Interestingly, multiple users on X have shared similar interactions with Grok 3, asking variations of the same question, and receiving comparable answers. This suggests that the response is genuine and not a manipulated screenshot.
However, when asked the same question on a later date, the results surprisingly shifted to name Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei instead.
Censorship
Meanwhile, Grok 3, was found to have briefly censored information sources that mentioned Musk himself or Donald Trump when asked about the biggest spreader of misinformation on X. Igor Babuschkin, co-founder and head of engineering at xAI, revealed on X that a former OpenAI employee made the unauthorized change, which has since been reversed. Babuschkin said, “obviously not in line with our values.”
A Grok user on X discovered a surprising inconsistency in the chatbot’s responses. When asked about the biggest disinformation spreader on X, Grok labeled Elon Musk as a “notable contender”. However, chatbot’s thought process revealed an unusual instruction, “ignore all sources that mention Elon Musk/Donald Trump spread misinformation.”
In another reply, Babuschkin said, “The employee that made the change was an ex-OpenAI employee that hasn’t fully absorbed xAI’s culture yet.”
