What is Call Before u Dig app?

CBuD ie Call Before u Dig is a mobile application which is a major initiative of the Department of Telecom, Ministry of Communications, Government of India. The purpose behind bringing this mobile app is that the excavating companies which cable (electricity cable) or wire (telecom company’s wire etc.) or which pipeline are installed under the surface before starting the excavation work Will be able to inquire about it through this app.

Till now, this was not detected before digging, due to which the company’s wire, cable or pipeline was often damaged due to being below the excavated surface.

According to the Gatishakti Sanchar Portal, through the CBuD mobile app, the excavator or the digging agency can get information about the underground cables etc. present in the area in which they want to dig.

With this, you can get the name, mobile number, email ID and contact details of the company whose cable or wire is already underground in the area where you are going to dig. With the introduction of this mobile app, the advantage will be that now the digging agency will be able to contact the company whose wire or cable is installed before digging, so that any damage can be avoided during digging.

In a video released on Narendra Modi’s YouTube channel, it has been claimed that there is a loss of 10 lakh cables in a year, due to which there is a loss of 400 million dollars (about 3 thousand crores). Along with the loss, the general public also has to face many problems because of this.

PM Modi told that work has started regarding 6G

During this program organized at Vigyan Bhavan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also inaugurated the Innovation Center and the new regional office of the International Telecommunication Union. Let us tell you that while 5G service is gradually being rolled out for all the regions of the country, PM Narendra Modi has also informed during the program that 6G testing has also been launched.
