BSNL launches new VoWiFi service, allows users to make calls without mobile network, here’s how

BSNL has launched its free VoWiFi service, allowing users to make voice calls over Wi-Fi in low-network areas,

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced a new feature that will enable users to make voice calls without a mobile network. The government-led telecom company has launched its VoWiFi (Voice over Wi-Fi) service in select regions. This enables users to make calls using a Wi-Fi connection instead of a cellular network. The move will bring BSNL on par with private telecom players like Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone-Idea, who already offer Wi-Fi calling to their customers.

How will the New BSNL VoWiFi Work?

The VoWiFi feature allows users to operate their devices in areas of low connectivity, even when the region has poor mobile signals. The feature is especially useful for people living in low network zones. To use this service, users will need phones that support VoWiFi. Most advanced smartphones come with this option available in the settings menu.

Free for All BSNL Users

One of the biggest advantages of BSNL’s VoWiFi service is that it will be completely free of cost. Users will not need to pay any additional charges for making calls over Wi-Fi. BSNL has confirmed this via its official X handle. BSNL has stated that the new feature will help improve connectivity without any extra expense.

With such efforts, BSNL is catching up with major telecom operators like Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone, who have been offering the feature for years. With these new add-ons, BSNL will be able to better compete with contemporary competitors.
