WhatsApp will face tough competition

Arattai’s origin came in by the Zoho team as a secure messaging platform during the COVID-19 lockdown in India. Overtime it added many familiarfeatures to users that were already available on instant messaging platforms like WhatsApp.  Just like WhatsApp, these included encrypted one-on-one and group chats, voice and video calls, media sharing, cloud backup, contact sync, and even disappearing messages. To further help the users, the app has also added multi-device login, custom themes, and better integration withthe  Zoho ecosystem.

Despite these updates, Arattai remains significantly less used than messaging apps such as WhatsApp, telegram and Signal. However, Vembu’s post now suggests that Zoho is about to begin marketing it extensively, but before ethat they want a perfect product before doing so.
