Ever since the news of Apple focusing on a new foldable has been released in the market, the new device has become one of the most highly anticipated phones in the market. A recent new leak has revealed the core specs of the new phone.
As per a few recent news reports an X account by the name of HaYao has leaked the key specs of Apple’s first foldable smartphone. As per the leaks it has become apparent that the phone would have a book like style, like Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold 6.
The inner screen of the phone would be in at 12 inches, suggesting that the phone is going to larger than the previous expectations. The Phone is expected to be 9.2 mm thick when folded, while when unfolded the phone would be 4.6 mm thick. For a reference the Z fold is about 5.6 mm thick when unfolded.
Apples New Folding Mechanism
The leaked reports also throw light on how the new folding mechanism from Apple Would work. As per them the left rear side of the phone folds greatly, and hence its has become apparent that the phone would have a large folding mechanism on the left rear side. How apple manages to pack such a hinge and balance the weight of the phone from being unbalanced could be a challenge.
New Screen By Samsung
Even though both the brands are in a major tussle as mobile phone producing giants, Samsung would seemingly supply apple with their new UTG lens that they have developed exclusively for Apple. The new tech is a variation of the ultra thin glass that Samsung uses for their Bendable Products. The Hinge that the phone would be using has been developed by apple’s own R&D department.
New Camera Tech
The new foldable phone would have a completely new dual rear camera tech with a primary and a wide -angle camera both of which would be featuring the Glass palstic- Hybrid Lens like the other Apple’s flagships. The front camera of the phone is likely to have a metalens tech that has been seen on other flagships from Apple’s clan.
Other Specs
Like the other foldable phones the phone would have dual batteries and the overall battery of the phone would be around 5,000 MAh. The leak confirms that the phone would be launched in the fall of 2026, along side the new iphone 18. A new foldable ipad would soon follow the launch and would be announced a year later in2027. As per the hopes of the brand they are looking to sell about 8 to 10 million units in 2026 only.
