Apple has launched the all-new 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the new M5 chip, delivering users significant improvements in AI, graphics, battery life, and overall performance equipped with the all new M5 chip.
The new M5 chip is up to 3.5x faster than the M4 and up to 6x faster than the M1. The new chip has been paired with a 10-core GPU with a Neural Accelerator in each core. The new CPU offers 20% better multithreaded performance than the previous M4 chip. Beyond that, Apple has improved productivity with 2x faster SSD performance and a standout 150GB/s unified memory bandwidth that supports large AI models and 3D workflows.
Enhanced Display, Audio, and macOS Integration
The new MacBook will now be equipped with a Liquid Retina XDR display with 1600 nits peak HDR brightness. Additionally, the MacBook now features a 12MP Center Stage camera, six-speaker audio system, and studio-quality mics. The MacBook is further complemented by macOS Tahoe.
The new 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 chip brings a major performance leap, offering up to 1.6x faster graphics and 20% better multithreaded CPU performance compared to the M4. Its 10-core CPU, next-gen GPU with Neural Accelerators, and 150GB/s unified memory bandwidth make it ideal for demanding workflows like 4K video editing, 3D rendering, and on-device AI. Users can expect up to 7.7x faster AI video enhancement, 6.8x faster 3D rendering, and 3.2x higher gaming frame rates over the M1 model.
Compared to Intel-based systems, the M5 delivers up to 86x faster AI and 30x faster GPU performance. Battery life reaches up to 24 hours, with fast charge support. The MacBook Pro also includes a stunning 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR display with nano-texture option, 12MP Center Stage camera, six-speaker audio, and enhanced Apple Intelligence features through macOS Tahoe – all while retaining the same starting price and adding more value with 16GB base memory and an extra Thunderbolt port.
