In a thrilling race to redefine smartphone design, Samsung had unveiled the stunning Galaxy S25 Edge, a marvel of engineering equipped with flagship specs and cutting-edge camera sensors in a sleek 5.84mm chassis. This device was at the time of launch, hailed as a game-changer, poised to capture the hearts of tech enthusiasts. However, Samsung isn’t alone in this pursuit of ultra-thin excellence, as Apple has now launched the all-new iPhone Air.
iPhone Air: Design and Display
The iPhone Air has a 6.5-inch display with very thin borders. The screen supports up to 120Hz refresh rate and gets extremely bright, up to 3,000 nits, which should help with outdoor use. The body uses a titanium frame for strength, and Apple has added Ceramic Shield 2 on the front for scratch protection.
iPhone Air: Camera
On the back, there’s a 48MP main camera that can shoot in full resolution or save smaller 24MP files by default. There’s also a 2x telephoto option built into the system.
On the front, the 18MP Center Stage camera adjusts the frame automatically for group selfies and lets you switch between portrait and landscape without moving the phone.
iPhone Air: Performance and battery
The phone runs on the A19 Pro chip, which should make it fast enough for gaming, photos, video editing, and the new Apple Intelligence features. Battery life is expected to last all day, with Apple claiming up to 27 hours of video playback. With fast charging, it can reach 50% in about half an hour.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Specs
The Galaxy S25 Edge cherry-picks the best features from the S25 range and presents them in a tighter, more agile chassis that is only 5.84mm thick. The Edge boasts a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED 2X display with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. The camera unit includes a 200MP f/1.7 aperture (wide), 1/1.56” sensor with PDAF and OIS, alongside a 12MP f/2.2 ultrawide PDAF front-facing camera. As per the specs, the phone has a 3900mAh battery with a 25W wired charging apparatus.
