Apple’s logo for the upcoming September 9 event hints at two rumored iPhone 17 Pro features, including new colour options and a vapor cooling chamber. While Apple has not confirmed anything, media reports claim that the iPhone 17 might come with a completely new innovation, along with a couple of new possible colours.
New Colours
A media report by Filipe Esposito from Mac World noted that the new iPhone 17 will be offered in two fresh shades – Orange and Dark Blue. The five colourways expected this year are Black, White, Gray, Dark Blue, and Orange. These new additions could give the iPhone 17 a better chance of standing out from previous models.

Vapour Chamber Cooling System
According to another rumour, the upcoming iPhone 17 models will feature internal design upgrades for better heat dissipation, with the iPhone 17 Pro in particular said to include a vapor chamber cooling system. As per a report by Mac Rumors, the event logo resembles a heat map seen through a thermal camera – possibly hinting at this new feature.
With these improvements, heat management becomes a top priority, as excess heat can slow performance and disrupt normal smartphone functioning. Recent devices like the OnePlus 13s already use a 4,400mm cryo-velocity vapor chamber that prevents overheating even in extreme conditions up to 45°C.
A vapor chamber would help stop the iPhone 17 Pro models from overheating during demanding tasks such as gaming. The system is likely to include a thin, sealed metal chamber filled with liquid, which will spread heat evenly across its surface. As the vapor cools, it condenses back into liquid, repeating the cycle. This process efficiently moves heat away from the A19 Pro chip expected to power the iPhone 17 Pro.
Beyond the OnePlus 13s, other flagship phones such as the Samsung S25 Ultra already use such technology to maintain stable temperatures – but no previous iPhones have ever featured it.
