We are a couple of days away from Apple’s much-hyped “Awe Dropping” event, scheduled to take place at Apple Park, Cupertino, on September 9. All eyes will be on the much-anticipated iPhone 17 series, expected to be announced during the event. India, one of Apple’s key markets, will be among the first to get the new lineup. Amid all the excitement ahead of the official launch, a new hands-on video from China has purportedly revealed the iPhone 17 Pro Max during production.
A leaked video was posted on the Chinese social media platform Weibo with the caption: “Something big has happened, the suspected iPhone 17 Pro Max mass production machine has been leaked.” GSMArena later shared the clip, which allegedly shows someone handling the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The video gives a clear look at what the device might look like in real life. The person can be seen holding a silver device from a lineup of phones – a handset that strongly resembles an iPhone.
The video confirms the rumoured rear design of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, with a wide camera panel stretching from edge to edge. It shows three cameras arranged in a triangular layout on the left and two smaller sensors on the right. Contrary to earlier rumours, the larger camera island doesn’t appear to push the Apple logo downward; it remains centred on the back of the device.
Furthermore, the rear design features another panel, covering a large area. The authenticity of this video is not confirmed, but it could be another prototype device.
The new series comprises the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Apple is also likely to unveil the iPhone 17 Air, touted as the thinnest and most portable iPhone ever, which may replace the iPhone 16 Plus. Apart from phones, Apple is also expected to unveil the updated Apple Watch, AirPods, and some artificial intelligence (AI) features.
