However, the event titled “It’s Glowtime” left an impression on social media users around the world, making them wonder why the tech giant selected this name for the event.
Why is Apple’s Launch Event Named “It’s Glowtime”?
Apple is known for using cryptic event graphics and names to provide its loyal fan base an indication of what’s coming. The company has not revealed a word about the name of its event, and only when the event officially kicks off will everything become clearer.
However, the meaning of “It’s Glowtime” might be easier to decode this year than in years past. Here’s why: the colours surrounding the Apple logo on the “It’s Glowtime” poster are identical to those of the Siri voice assistant. It suggests that this is a curtain raiser to new Siri features that could be revealed during the launch event.
It’s important to note that Apple first introduced Apple Intelligence features in iOS 18 during WWDC 2024. At the event, the company also revealed that it would redesign Siri to make it “more natural, contextual, and personal”, providing an easier and faster user experience. Additionally, Siri will also receive a design revamp, with glowing lights around the edge of the screen once the voice assistant is active.
Apple iPhone 16 Launch Event: Revamped Siri Coming This Year?
A report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says that many new features based on Apple’s generative AI, including the revamped Siri, won’t be available when the iPhone 16 launches. He claims it won’t be available until next year. Gurman further adds that at launch, Apple Intelligence features will be limited to giving messages and notifications summaries, rather than matching the top-tier AI features offered by competitors like the Galaxy S24 or Pixel 9 Pro.
