Foldable phones were supposed to be the new horizon towards which the veritable manufacturers of today would have sailed. The prospects of new phone form factor in the upcoming years became a profound hope of innovation for manufacturers. But the fallacies of the folding form factor has left the fans with a sour taste for the new innovation. The fact that the hinge as well as the screens start to showcase mechanical fatigue and an expanding crease with time became apparent right after the first gen phones were launched in the market. 

Since Apple is jumping aboard the new foldable bandwagon a little late its expected that Apple would innovate beyond the current scenario and produce phones that are better and more capable than the first gen phones. The rumors have purported that Apple itself has plans to walk beyond the current scenario of the tech world. It seeks to innovate further and bring in a new hinge design and new displays that would over time reduce the chances of creases. 

A few days back a new new leak had revealed that Apple has plans to use Liquid Metal and Die cast parts to ensure that the Hinge has minimal clearances reducing the chance of dust and lint accumulation increasing the durability. Beyond that there have been rumor’s that Apple has been seeking a new type of screen material that would further reduce the chances of creases in the screen. 

Bigger Battery And Durability 

Apple has expansive plans to use the new foldable form factor not only for their phones but for future iPad’s as well. Hence there have been rumor’s as to how the brand has been planning on long term goals. These include, expansion of the battery capacity of the phone and beyond that increase the overall durability of the phone. A better battery with a creaseless screen that does not succumbs to mechanical fatigue would surely give the brand an edge over its users in the future. 

A recent revelation from tech leaker YEUX1122 has revealed that Apple would be using an improved display IC. This would enable the engineers to equip the phone with thinner panel assemblies and at the same time reduce the power consumption and heat output. 

Its possible that the Apple foldable might be priced above the other phones in the category, but its durability and battery life would become the primary reasons why users would be ready to pay for it.
