Apple’s upcoming new innovations that are set to launch soon after iPhone 17 have left the enthusiasts with high expectations. One of the veritable proponents of the new product range would be the Apple Foldable. A recent update by Ming Chi Kuo Apple’s supply chain analyst, has revealed that Apple’s supplier Foxconn would expectedly start producing Apple’s foldable in the third quarter of 2025. Or in the early fourth quarter of October. Apple has resolute plans to launch the device in the fall of 2026 as a part of the iPhone 18 line up.
While the September/October 2025 timeline is fast approaching, Apple has not finalized the specifications yet. While Apple is still finalizing the components that would be used for the new foldable , it has been revealed that the foldable display would be manufactured by Apple.
Previous Rumors About Apple Foldable
Previous rumors regarding the Apple Foldable had detailed that the new device would have a 5.5 inch screen when closed and a 7.8 inches when the phone opens up. The Phone would have a similar lay out as that of the Galaxy Foldable phones rather than the Galaxy Flip. The Foldable iPhone could possibly be as thin as 4.5 mm when unfolded and about 9.5 mm when folded.
Design has always been a forte for Apple, and to ensure that none of its fans are disappointed from the design Apple has funneled considerable effort into the foldable hinge. The New design would help Apple manufacture a foldable with no visible crease. But the phone would use under display camera and some kind of a Touch id Apparatus rather than a face id apparatus due to space constraints. Apple expects the foldable iPhone to be priced at $2,000 to $2,500. These inputs surfaced before Apple was facing intense tariffs in china , now the prices might be changed as per the tariffs.
Kuo has further revealed that Samsung would produce around seven to eight million foldable panels for the foldable iPhone in 2026. Right now rumor’s suggest that Apple has been planning to fall for a 2026 launch, but Kuo warns that Apple plans remain subject to change, specially before the production spree is initiated.
