Amid reports that the AirPods Pro 3 could launch in 2025, likely during Apple’s September event, new design details of the wireless earbuds have surfaced online. According to tipster Majin Bu, the AirPods Pro 3 will feature significant upgrades to the charging case, along with improvements in audio quality and connectivity.
AirPods Pro 3: The New Case
Majin Bu cited a well-known accessory manufacturer and claimed that one of the key updates to the charging case will be a slight decrease in size compared to the existing model. But the tipster says that based on the photos and dimensions he obtained after discussions with case producers, the cases appear almost identical to previous models.

He also confirms that Apple will do away with the traditional pairing button, simplifying the overall look. Instead, users will be able to tap on the case itself, as new touch controls make their way to the front, similar to the AirPods 4. Users will now be able to pair the earbuds with an iPhone or other iOS device, as well as control music playback and volume, directly through touch gestures on the case.
Apple isn’t dropping lanyard support on the AirPods Pro 3 either, meaning old accessories remain compatible while the company’s new lanyard will work with them too, claims the tipster.
