Apple Airpods would now turn into hearing aids. In a recent update that has been mentioned in a few publications it has been reported that Apple’s hearing aid feature for AirPods pro would be available in the UK. A official statement from the company read
“At Apple, we believe that technology can help people live healthier lives, and we’re delighted to bring the Hearing Aid feature to the UK, offering our users an end-to-end hearing health experience with AirPods Pro 2,” said Sumbul Desai, M.D., Apple’s vice president of Health.
The Hearing aid mode would enhance the ambient sounds and assist adults who have impacted hearing. This feature would assist individuals with mild to moderate hearing issues. This new functionality would be provided at no extra charge and the users would be able to opt for it by a simply updating their Airpods to a new firmware update.
Hearing Level Test
This new feature would provide a comprehensive solution to the individuals with impacted hearing. The users would be able to manipulate the hearing aid features after taking an in depth test to determine whether they have hearing loss and ascertaining how much assistance they need to achieve a general hearing level. The Test would provide the users with a hearing level along with suggested actions. The ascertained hearing level would be automatically applied to music, games, music and phone cross calls.
Such features were first launched in the US and select other countries in late October, with the new updates iOS 18.1 and iOS18.2 expanded the hearing test feature to France Italy, Luxembourg, Romania, Spain, Cyprus, Czechia and The UK. Both the hearing aid and hearing test features to the united Arab emirates.
To get all such features you would have to update to firmware version 7B19 or newer. Such firmware’s download automatically when they are charging and in Bluetooth range of an iPhone, iPad or MAC connected to a WIFI.
