Airtel and Jio, two of India’s largest telecom operators, have recently scrapped their budget entry-level plans. While this step is expected to boost their average revenue per user, it also means higher costs for consumers, adding to their burden. Following suit, Vi has mirrored the decision taken by the market leaders.
The plan discontinued by Airtel was priced at ₹249, which offered 1 GB of daily data for 28 days. Meanwhile, Jio’s discontinued plan offered the same 1 GB of data along with unlimited calls and a Jio Cinema subscription.
Airtel ₹299 Plan
The new budget entry-level plan from Airtel is priced at ₹299. The plan offers users 1 GB of daily data along with unlimited calls, with a validity of 28 days. Additionally, subscribers get a Perplexity AI subscription worth ₹17,000 for free, along with spam call protection.
Airtel ₹349 Plan
Another budget plan from Airtel costs ₹349 and offers 1.5 GB of daily data along with unlimited calls. The validity of this plan is also 28 days. Subscribers additionally receive a Perplexity AI subscription worth ₹17,000 for free, along with Airtel’s spam call protection.
Jio ₹299 Plan
Jio’s new entry-level plan is priced at ₹299, offering 1 GB of daily data and unlimited calls with a 28-day validity. The plan also includes free subscriptions to Jio TV and Jio Cloud, collectively worth ₹2,999, along with Jio’s spam call protection.
Jio ₹349 Plan
Another new entry-level plan from Jio costs ₹349. This plan offers 2 GB of daily data and unlimited calls, with a 28-day validity. Subscribers also get free Jio TV and Jio Cloud subscriptions worth ₹2,999, along with Jio’s spam call protection.
