The issue seems to have been resolved now and the number of reports that were raised on down detector have reduced as well. Airtel has not confirmed any issues with their services till now. While the reason for the loss of connectivity is not confirmed, the 5G Roll out in India has not had the smoothest journey ever.

Challenges With 5g Roll Out

5G Rollout in India has witnessed a few challenges. One of the most primary challenge would be allocation of frequencies- Indian operators apparently have a much constricted spectrum than foreign operators. further initial 5G services were supposed to use 4g and LTE network infrastructure in the initial roll out phase, which makes them vulnerable to DOS, thus even while the 5G networks are supposed to be a advancement it would inherently adopt the vulnerabilities of the previous network.

The 5g Network relies on Network Function Virtualization and Software Denied Networking, the challenge with these, is that they use widely used protocols which can be manipulated by hackers. Beyond the use of IOT devices can further increase the chances of issues. While No details have been revealed as to what was the reason behind the outage, such issues are inherent with the 5G roll out in India as per- 5G IN INDIA: Opportunities And Challenges published by IJNRD.
