London-based tech brand Nothing is preparing for an exciting launch, as two new models, the Nothing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Plus, have been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website. The model numbers A059 and A059P are believed to correspond to these upcoming phones, indicating they may be released in India soon.
Nothing is known for its unique smartphone designs, featuring a transparent back and a special Glyph lighting interface. The BIS listing suggests that the brand will continue to innovate as it expands its product lineup.
The company has started teasing its upcoming launches for 2025. Recently, a post on X (formerly Twitter) included an image of the Pokémon Arcanine, which hints at Nothing’s trend of using Pokémon names as internal code names for its devices. Additionally, a sketch showing a transparent back panel was shared, likely continuing the brand’s distinctive design approach.

An internal email from CEO Carl Pei has also sparked excitement, mentioning plans for a “landmark smartphone launch.” This email suggests that the Nothing Phone (3) will include advanced features powered by AI and a new user interface.
Speculations about the Nothing Phone (3) include significant performance upgrades. It is expected to be equipped with either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, along with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. A 6.5-inch display and enhanced Glyph lighting support are also anticipated.
While the flagship Phone (3) is set to launch in 2025, the BIS certification hints that the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Plus could be unveiled sooner. This aligns with fan speculation following the Pokémon teaser. The launch of the Phone (3a) might indeed be the significant smartphone event mentioned in Pei’s leaked email, expected between January and March.
