ZIM vs IND, 1st T20I: Top Order Confirmed, IPL Star To Be Picked For Wicketkeeper?

ZIM vs IND: Skipper Shubman Gill has already confirmed about the top batting order for the 1st T20I in Harare

ZIM vs IND: Shubman Gill is set to lead Team India against Zimbabwe in the first T20I of a five-match series starting on Saturday, June 6. Gill has been entrusted with leading a young Indian squad as the senior players have been rested for the tour.

Notably, Rohit Sharma, the former T20I captain, retired from the format following India’s triumph in the 2024 T20 World Cup in Barbados last month. Additionally, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja have also stepped away from T20Is, allowing more young players to develop their skills and excel for India.

Batting Order Confirmed By Skipper Shubman Gill

Skipper Shubman Gill has already confirmed about the top batting order. While he will open with SRH star and debutant Abhishek Sharma, Ruturaj Gaikwad will be batting at number 3 having opened for the Men in Blue in previous T20Is.
However the question arises in the wicketkeeping department where the spot hasn’t been confirmed by the young skipper so far. Jitesh Sharma is being tipped as the wicketkeeper who will play this T20I considering his ability with the bat and his IPL form.

Here’s what the probable playing XI could look like in ZIM vs IND 1st T20I –

Ruturaj Gaikwad, Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill (C), Riyan Parag, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma (WK), Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar
