Sai Sudharsan, who has already debuted in ODIs in South Africa last year, and Jitesh Sharma, who has played nine T20Is for India since his debut at the Asian Games in 2023, are among the replacements. Harshit Rana, who had an impressive IPL season with champions Kolkata Knight Riders, is uncapped at the international level.
Samson, Dube, and Jaiswal were part of the Indian squad that won the T20 World Cup on Saturday (June 29). Their departure from Barbados to India was delayed due to a hurricane. The BCCI confirmed that the World Cup-winning trio will first return to India with the rest of the team from the Caribbean before heading to Harare for the final three T20Is.
India has picked a relatively inexperienced squad for the five-match T20I series, with Shubman Gill named as captain. The series will begin on July 6 and conclude on July 14, with all five games scheduled at the Harare Sports Club.
