IND bowlers put up a show vs ZIM Batting Order
With Rahul Dravid not overseeing the team now, VVS Laxman has taken the responsibilities for the team in the 5-match T20I series. Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel have been given the debut for the shortest format of the game.
It was Mukesh Kumar who got Team India the breakthrough with a brilliant delivery to dismiss opener Innocent Kaia in the 2nd over. India managed to take another one in the powerplay itself, with spinner Ravi Bishnoi sending Brian Bennett back to the pavilion.
Sikandar Raza and Dion Myers were trying to stitch up a partnership to post a respectable total on the board. However, it was Avesh Khan who took the all-important wicket of Raza in the 12th over. What followed a batting order meltdown as Zimbabwe was left struggling at 89/7 in 14.3 overs. Washington Sundar also got himself two scalps to his name.
It was Ravi Bishnoi who ended up leading the bowling line up with a 4-fer as Team India restricted the hosts at 115/9 in their 20 overs.
Brion Bennett and Dion Myers ended up as joint top scorers for the hosts with 23 runs each on the day.
