Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh asserted that he was turned down for a position with the Gujarat Titans team. Expressing his interest in mentoring an Indian Premier League (IPL) squad, Yuvraj disclosed that he approached Ashish Nehra, the head coach of Gujarat Titans, for a role, but Nehra declined the request. Yuvraj, who enjoyed a successful IPL career with teams like Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Mumbai Indians, played 132 matches, accumulating 2750 runs, with a top score of 83.
“Let’s see what opportunities I get, but my priority is my kids right now. Once they start school, I will have more time. so I can pick up (coaching). I love working with the young guys, especially my state boys, and I feel that mentoring is something that I would love to do, and definitely to be part of one of the IPL teams, I’m definitely looking at,” said Yuvraj as quoted by PTI.

“I asked Mr Ashish Nehra (Gujarat Titans) for a job, but he declined it. So, let’s see where else I can get a position, but at the moment, I have to balance. “So, definitely in the coming years, I want to give back to cricket and help the young guys get better. I can contribute a lot,” he added.
Yuvraj Singh, the hero of the World Cup victory, suggested the possibility of taking on a mentorship role for the Indian cricket team, aiming to provide mental preparation for players facing upcoming challenges. The Indian team has been striving for success in ICC tournaments, experiencing another setback in the 2023 World Cup final against Australia. India’s most recent ICC triumph was the Champions Trophy in 2013 under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, while their last World Cup victory dates back to 2011.
