New details about WWE’s intentions regarding Royal Rumble 2026 have been disclosed. This will be the first occasion of WWE Royal Rumble being organized in Saudi Arabia. Royal Rumble will definitely be a single-day celebration on January 31, 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, while WrestleMania and SummerSlam are two-day fests. There is a long interval of two months between the November 29th Survivor Series and the January 31st Royal Rumble, as it is months without a PLE. There will be two Saturday Night’s Main Event specials between them, including John Cena’s last match against Gunther on December 13th.
Royal Rumble 2026 Match Structure Reportedly Set as Four-Bout Lineup
The Royal Rumble will take place on January 31st, and during this time period, various speculations will be made regarding the participation of wrestlers in the main event. Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Dave Meltzer has given details that “the current plan for Royal Rumble is just a four-match card consisting of two title matches and the two Rumble matches.” Meltzer also stated that the pairing of the two titles is still under discussion, although the event is only six weeks away.

Triple H’s compact PLE approach and Bron Breakker’s controversial WarGames win
Triple H, the Chief Content Officer of WWE, has in recent months preferred to hold PLEs tightly and often with only five matches. Therefore, it is not surprising that the Royal Rumble may have only four bouts. The Men’s and Women’s matches of the Rumble can easily be prolonged to an hour. Besides, during the past couple of years, the 2024 and 2025 editions also contained four matches. Meanwhile, at Survivor Series WarGames, Bron Breakker stole a huge, albeit controversial, victory over CM Punk with the assistance of an unknown attacker.
Breakker’s momentum sparks speculation of major Royal Rumble Victory
As a result of that win, Bron Breakker will be confronting CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Title on WWE Monday Night RAW’s January 5th edition. It appears very improbable that Bron Breakker will defeat CM Punk for the World Title on Raw since Punk has just recently obtained the championship, thus, it is not surprising that Wrestlevotes mentioned that Breakker is the top choice to emerge victorious in the Men’s Royal Rumble match.

“Bron Breakker is your current… whiteboard favorite, as so bluntly described to us to win the Royal Rumble. An idea has been strongly considered within creative circles that would see Breakker win the Royal Rumble on January 31 from Saudi Arabia.”
Over the years, the winners of the Royal Rumble have changed, and the plans have indeed changed, but at this point, Bron Breakker is still a reasonable choice for anyone participating in a Royal Rumble pool.
